    PVR FTA/OTA

    ADVERTS 1
I love my S9 so much I bought a S10. Is there a PVR that does FTA and OTA/DTV or a OTA only recorder.

    Magnavox MDR-513H/F7 320GB DVR and DVD Recorder ? Walmart.com

Not HD, but it works for me. There's also a 500Gb model,
Magnavox 500GB HDD and DVD-R with Digital Tuner - Walmart.com

I'm not endorsing any particular retailer, it's just where I got mine. Now, who's got the time to transfer all the shows I have on VCR tapes to DVD?

This is good to know since I've been looking for the same. You can download the manual by clicking

. I must have an HD PVR for timeshifting purposes and commercial avoidance. Getting such a PVR, and finding a VHF high-band OTA antenna are the last steps before firing my subscription TV provider and reaching video independence day. My current subscription TV PVR can only be used with that satellite provider's system.

Hauppauge 1212 HD-PVR High Definition Personal Video Recorder

    Isn't this HD
    Hauppauge unit

better for those who mainly want to record from live TV for purposes of watching at a more convenient time?

Added: This doesn't contain a tuner. It's a different beast. You must use a satellite or OTA receiver to receive station first.
