    HTPC building is kind off trial and error. Finding the right software/hardware combination for your particular wants/needs is not cut and dry. I have tried a bunch of tuners and softwares. My favorite tuner does not work with my favorite software . In short, it would be hard to recommend anything without knowing some parameters.

    I've been running a Prof 7301 with DVBviewer for the past 18 months, I haven't had to touch it, just works, kinda boring.

    here's a great hint. Don't attempt to use a tiny htpc case. tiny under powered power supplies, small selection of low profile graphics cards, you may need a Spdif audio output. Full ATX is the best way to go, cooler, no hardware limitations
    I prefer sat locations vs. spacecraft names
