Linux and SkyStar2 - testing?
ADVERTS 1
Hi all, last night I installed Mythbuntu 10.04 and from what I can find from the output of dmesg it looks like the driver was automatically installed.
What I have not been able to figure out yet is how to test it. How do you tune a satellite signal?
Thanks, DC

Hi all, well it was interesting taking a look at Mythbuntu but after messing with it for a while I decided to reload XP Pro on the HTPC. I have been messing on and off with Linux since 1996 and find it works great for a Desktop PC or just about any type of file or web server but when it comes to multimedia I find it too complicated to sort out all the needed drivers, codecs and other software.
I did fine one of the programs used to tune the DVB card called dvbtune but I was not able to get it to run.
Oh well, on to the next project. DC

as long as your drivers are loaded properly my little tune-s2 app should tune without issues.
