I asked you this question on Engadget, Scott, but you could activate an external hard drive for this model, can't you?
BTW, I am the JDM that sent the satellite guys report to them. You guys deserve more credit than you usually get for breaking these kinds of stories!

No, as far as I know you cant add an external hard drive and turn it into a DVR. However I understand this is planned, they just rolled it out for the 211 series.

Where's the 722k? That is the dvr I am interested in. It was supposed to become available this month.

Both were supposed to become available this month and both are K verisons , I think it is a fair question to ask. Maybe Scott has some inside information about why this 722k receiver is running late in it appearance to the market.

Forgive me if this is a dumb question, but can I just call Dish Network and upgrade from my ViP722 that I'm currently leasing to the ViP722k? Or would I have to purchase this receiver myself? The dual OTA tuning would really be nice.
