Yeah in a lot of these cases the guys at the top of these little companies primary original purpose is to pitch the product and get people to invest in the company or buy the company out right. When the company gets bought out by a large corperation the original owners have pretty much accomplished what they were there to do in the first place and the new combined buisness has no need of their talents. A lot of these things are preordained when the company is bought and everyone walks away happy.
