    Tele-Comm T-1500 Standard LNB 1.0 dB NF

    ADVERTS 1
This review is to compare the $9 Tele-Comm T-1500 Standard LNB 1.0 dB NF LNB Sadoun sells to more expensive LNBs.

The Competitors: (In no particular order)
    1. Lava Universal LNB 0.4 dB NF
    2. Tele-Comm T-1500 Standard LNB 1.0 dB NF
    3. Invacom SNH-031 Universal LNB 0.3 Typ dB NF
    4. Fortec Star Single 0.4dB Universal Single LNBF FSKU-V

    LNB Specifications:

Lava Universal LNB 0.4 dB NF (Similar to Sadoun ULN1 UNIVERSAL Linear Ku 0.4 dB LNBF) ($29 Sadoun)
Input Frequency Range: 10.7 GHz - 12.75 GHz
    LO Frequency: 9750/10600
    Gain: 57 dB
    Cross Pol. Isolation: 22 dB
LO Frequency Stability: +/- 1 MHz

    Tele-Comm T-1500 Standard LNB 1.0 dB NF ($9 Sadoun)
Input Frequency Range: 11.7 GHz - 12.2 GHz
    LO Frequency: 10750

Invacom SNH-031 Universal LNB 0.3 Typ dB NF ($45 Sadoun)
Input Frequency Range: 10.7 GHz - 12.75 GHz
    LO Frequency: 9750/10600
    Gain: 50 - 60 dB
Cross Pol. Isolation: > 25 dB
LO Frequency Stability: +/- 1 MHz Typ +/- 3 MHz Max

Fortec Star Single 0.4dB Universal Single LNBF FSKU-V (~25$)
Input Frequency Range: 10.7 GHz - 12.75 GHz
    LO Frequency: 9750/10600
    Gain: 63 dB Max
Cross Pol. Isolation: 28 dB Max
LO Frequency Stability: +/- 1 MHz Typ +/- 2 MHz Max

The comparison was conducted on my motorized (SG2100) 36" Azure Shine dish and my Pansat 3500.

I read on the forums that the frequency's detected by this LNB are not very accurate,
but I found the frequencies to be the same as my Lava LNB which gives very accurate frequency readings.

All the LNBs except the Tele-Comm T-1500 were able to fit the standard LNB holder.
I tried a larger holder (For a C-Band LNB) for the Tele-Comm T-1500 but it was to large to fit the LNB, but that was not going to stop me
So I had to find three of man's best friends. (Not dogs ) Duct Tape, Tie Wraps, and a F-Connector (Normally used as a connector for RG-6 coaxial cables)
I duct taped the f-connector to the end of the satellite dish's LNB arm, placed the Tele-Comm T-1500 LNB on top (moved the LNB around to find the correct focal point), and tie wrapped it in place.

Images to fit the Tele-Comm T-1500 LNB to my 36" dish are attached below.

Test time was around 5:00 PM PST on Saturday, December 29, 2007.
The weather was: clear skys, no wind, and a cold 40°Fahrenheit.

    The Results:

Number of Times the LNB was the leader (Higher is better)
    Lava : 3 (17.6%)

    Invacom : 7 (41.2%)
    Fortec Star: 2 (11.7%)

Average Signal Quality of all transponders (Higher is better)
    Lava : 69.71
    Tele-Comm : 71.50
    Invacom : 72.64
    Fortec Star: 69.50

Average Signal Quality below the transponders Best Signal Quality (Higher is better)
    Lava : -6.64
    Tele-Comm : -4.85
    Invacom : -3.71
    Fortec Star: -6.86

Price and Price Ranking (Lower is better)
    Lava : $29 : #2
    Tele-Comm : $9 : #1
    Invacom : $45 : #4
    Fortec Star: ~$25 : #3

Signal Quality Ranking (Lower is better)
    Lava : 3
    Tele-Comm : 2
    Invacom : 1
    Fortec Star: 4

    My Final Opinion:
The Tele-Comm T-1500 sold by Sadoun is a very low priced LNB, at $9 I am very surprised that it ranks second place against much higher priced LNBs.
If price is a factor and you do not mind making your own mount (Or finding one), the Tele-Comm T-1500 is a amazing deal at only $9 before shipping and tax.

Thank you Sadoun for allowing me to review this LNB. (This is my first review so I hope I got everything in here )
All prices are before shipping and tax. (12/31/07)

Thanks for the Review qwert! I think you did an excellent job on your review. Now, just to put my mind at ease and make sure we are on the same page, the Invacom is the Winner here, correct?

    Thanks,

The Invacom is the winner of the highest signal quality, the Tele-Comm T-1500 comes in as second place, but you have to remember the Invacom is $45 and the Tele-Comm T-1500 is only $9.

Big price difference, and both have similar signal qualities
