sounds like a decent package:
ADVERTS 1
Sounds like a package from Sadoun.
- I believe the receiver is a good choice ; don't we have a review of it here?
- the LNB is fine; you can decide if you want to upgrade to QPH031, but whether to buy the Cadillac when a normal Sedan would do, is a personal call.
- he sells Fortec Star dishes. I have one, and they are fine (36" is good upgrade idea)
- any of those DG 200 or 300 series motors seem like a good idea
- you'll need cable, so that's a wise thing to get
-
One thing I do, is place a coax grounding block 6-20 feet from the dish.
That lets me ground the coax, and it gives me a good place to break the connection outside to insert the receiver for initial setup.
Can anyone else think of anything he might want or need?

there there
Thanks Anole!
What do you think about the M-2 Motorized FTA Satellite Choice Set from Sadoun?
It has the
QPH031
Quad LNBF
and I can upgrade to 90cm for $20.
Is the
GEOSATpro DSR100C Receiver
better than the Pansat 3500SD or no difference?
I'm getting there!

- on the receiver, I don't have either. I know folks who have/like the Pansat 3500.
There's a review of the GeoSat boxes, and I hear good things about them.
(see our Review Department)
When their importer promoted a previous receiver, it got outstanding support and bug fixes, so I'd expect the same.
Only thought, is whether you'd like the PVR version or not.
I'm spoiled and would never live without that feature again!
- LNB choice: I've never spent the money on the Cadillac, but it'd be good to have one in the collection.
It's been reviewed, so go read about it if you haven't already.
- dish: actually the 36" Fortec Star dish is favorably reviewed, too!
Iceberg wrote it up a few years ago, and that is what convinced me to get one.
- motor is the same as last time, and users seem generally happy.
When I buy another motor, it will undoubtedly be from that series.
Don't see how you could go wrong with that bundle.
But, get some feedback and input from others, in case I've forgotten anything.
Getting it all shipped out together, will avoid having to place another order later. -
edit:
Another user has just ordered up the same bundle.
I refer you to his thread for (my) additional suggestions on setting up the motor.Last edited by Anole; 10-09-2009 at 08:50 PM.
