    AZBOX Prem or Elite

    ADVERTS 1
Does anyone who has either of these boxes have anything good to say about them. I have been looking on eBay and it looks like I want that for feed hunting.

I have a 31" offset now, and i have a 10' SAMI that is not up yet and probably wont be for a while. Would recommend this box is all i can get is KU? or am i wasting time and money?

Last question i know it does dvbs2 and dvs and hd sd and 4:2:0, mpeg2 and mpeg4 so is the only thing this box is missing 4:2:2?

I also looked at that Vantage and it seems to have a lot of good features as well? Any opinions?

    Thanks!

4:2:2 works, I don't know where you got that info from.. I have the Elite HD model and its my best unit I own.

Recommended from me for sure, and others.

As far as Elite of Prem, you will pay more for Premium which has everything the Elite has except you can add a 2.5" HDD and has built in wifi. Other then that, Elite works just the same as Premium for way less $$$$$.

Read my reviews of each of them in the review section. I humbly suggest that most anything you need to know will be covered in those two threads.

Don't forget to look at the Pansat 9200, a Non 4:2:2, DVB-S and DVB-S2 Blind Scanning unit that can Record High Bit Rate HD feeds to an external SATA Drive.

    The AZBox does:
    DVB-S 4:2:0
    DVB-S 4:2:2
    DVB-S2 4:2:0
    DVB-S2 4:2:2
Records SD and Low Bit Rate HD (under 20 megabit)

    AZBox does not:
    Blind Scan

    Vantage 1100 does:
    DVB-S 4:2:0
    DVB-S2 4:2:0
Blind Scans (both DVB-s and DVB-S2)
Records SD and Low Bit Rate HD
Shutters horribly on High Bit Rate HD feeds
Can handle AAC sound (not to be confused with AC3)

    Vantage 1100 does not:
    DVB-S 4:2:2
    DVB-S2 4:2:2
With Firmware above 2.44, can not do AC3 sound

It all depends on what you watch.

If you're ever in the New Orleans area give me a shout, I'll show you BOTH of them. Or if you want to take a ride, even, its only two hours or so each way, more or less...LOL
