The 8000 & 8100 have different menu setups than the 4/5/6000 models
From what I remember, all the 8100 did was add a PVR option via a USB port. I have the 8000 and can confirm no blind scan. A few folks here picked up a 8100 recently and they dont have blind scan on themUniversity of Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs mens hockey team

Thanks
It sure helps to have access to all that knowledge out there. You've made up my mind for me. I'm going to get a Pansat 9200HD, but I think I'll wait a couple of more weeks as the prices may go down in the New Year. I must say the Geosat Pro was tempting but difficult to get in Canada and didn't seem to be upgradeable.
What convinced me is that the Pansat has blind scan and can be up graded for mpeg-4. I assume the Ku Band will eventually start useing this as well.
Thanks to you all and especially to Jan S, Chan and Iceberg.

The Pansat can do MPEG4 out of the box. It needs the extra card for DVB-S2
