Just Another Reason to have a C-Band dish!
ADVERTS 1
I saw an article on-line today where a woman in North York Ontario, Canada (a suburb of Toronto, ON) survived a fall from an 11 story apartment balcony. Apparently a c-band dish on the ground broke her fall and saved her life.

I hope she realigned it.

from the picture it looked like the dish folded in the middle with the top portion and the lnb pointed downwards now.

Dish Diving; New Sport?
Damned people!
No respect!
What'd the poor BUD ever do to her?
Was she on her skate board?
This is worse than people making 'em into umbrella shades for their picnic tables, and duck ponds! -

i originally looked at the article since people usually get severely injured after an 11 story fall so i wanted to discover what broke her fall. i was saddened to see it was a BUD. here's a link to the article

"Oriental sunshine" eh, LOL. Yes, sounds like a massage place, don't it? The fall into the satellite dish was just the icing on the cake to that story, from the story it sounded like it was a free-for-all!
Dishes can be handy for stopping falls, though. I mis-stepped once off my short ladder, and had to jump. Which meant I jumped with one leg through bottom part of the mesh dish I was working on. Luckily for the dish, and my body, I only poked the mesh out of the petal, somehow managed to miss the entire framework of the dish-petal, haha. Once I straightened that out and replaced it, it was hard to tell I'd even done something that smart.Icon 550, Vantage 1100HD (thanks Stogie) on .90M primestar DG380 motor.10'Sami+GI650 for c-band.
