Where NOT to shop for ANYTHING!!!
ADVERTS 1
Now that this fiasco is completed, I have decided to advise all why my signature warns everyone not to shop at shop4fta. It all started about 5 months ago when I purchased an S9 radio from them. It did not take too long to get it from California to Michigan because they used priority mail for shipping. Installed the radio and all I would get with power on was nothing. Unit would only display “on.” After I E-mailed them with the problem, it took 5 days for an answer. “We ship quality units and it should work.” Another Email and another four days wait. This time an answer with instructions on loading software they sent. I could not install because I could not even get radio to run. I tried with the RS-232 cable and same problem. Another E-mail to them and another 5 days delay. Again, from them, another file to try. Still have the same problem. Just can not get through their thick skulls this radio is DOA. Another E-mail to them this radio is dead and needs to be replaced. Seven days delay and I E-mailed them as to what was the delay? Three days later I received an E-mail to return the unit for replacement. Two and a half weeks later, I get an E-mail they sent out a new radio. Five days later the “new” radio arrives. It sat at my house about a week before I had time to check it out. I installed the same file and channels I have on my other (E-bay brand) S9 radio. I could get nothing with this unit! After much checking with what was wrong, I found that it has voltage out to the LNB’s but no current. There is just not enough “juice” to power the LNB’s! When I powered the LNB’s with my 920, the S9 worked fine. I E-mailed shop4fta the problem with this radio. Seven days later, they said to return it. Fifteen days later an E-mail from them stating the radio worked fine. They also stated that it was not the radio they sent me, different serial numbers! Oh, for crying out loud, what next from these people? I advised them I do not have a stash of old, dead radios I send back to companies! This WAS what they sent me and it does not work. Nine days later, and THIS BEATS ALL!, they stated if I sent them $25.00 they would fix the radio. A radio THEY said a few days before worked OK!!! I wanted to tell them to Kiss M.A., but just said to return the dead unit they sold me. They wanted postage and I gave it to them. A dead radio I paid for is better than nothing. Five days later the unit arrived. I checked it out and it works if you power the LNB’s from somewhere else.
So with this company full if complete idiots and imbeciles, I thought I should continue to advise ALL that the best thing they could do is: NEVER shop at Shop4FTA!!!

Sounds like so many of the people giving my profession a bad name-- idiots and imbeciles!
Been an IT consultant for over 15 years, but there are so many "COMPUTER GENIUSES" out there now. All they ever do is FORMAT computers and re-install windows. Since Vista-Win7, it is so EASY now (drivers, lol). really miss the days when you had to load mscdex drivers to get the CD-ROM to work. weren't so many geniuses back then........
thanks for the warning!!! do most shopping with SATAV and Brian has always gone above and beyond! If the lunch meat called 'spam' became the catchword for a depersonalized email message, then social networking should be known as 'soylent green'!

MSCDEX.... Wow, its been a long time since I've heard that reference!
Every so often I open a command prompt in Windows (NOT the same thing as true MS-DOS, although it works in a similar fashion) just because I know commands in DOS that can do more in a shorter time than similar operations under Windows.Current systems: 2X Visionsat IV-200 PVRs; Pansat 2700; Digitrans DTE-7150 DVB/Digicipher II; Twinhan and Nexus-S PC DVB cards; SiliconDust HDHomeRun ATSC/QAM networked tuners; fixed 1 meter Channel Master dish with Eagle Aspen P870 FSS Ku-Band stacked LNB; 2X 3ABN 36" dishes with Invacom QPH-031 Ku/DBS-Band LNBFs on Moteck SG-2100 H-H motors; fixed Sadoun SD180G 1.8 meter dish with Eagle Aspen B1SAT STACK C-Band stacked LNBF; Winegard Square Shooter OTA DTV antenna

Even back then there were people like that, I saw this guy one time, not sure why he did this but I guess he thought the boot procedure didn't take enough time or look important enough so he put "dir" in the startup file about 20 times... That was back with win 3.11. Asked him why he did that he said, oh, it does that when it starts up it is checking the hard drive for faults. WOW! Computer geniuses have always been around. Just back then people didn't know they were full of it haha.

When you work with a low volume tight margin operation you can't expect the same level of service as a big box retailer. In today's China controlled tech world it's the American reseller who is taking it in the backside on bad products. So one bad receiver has to be recovered by the sale of 4 or 5 more units. Most of these ebay operations would be lucky to yield minimum wage equivalents. From my experience many sellers are just one man operations in an apartment or a housewives filling orders during the day while the kids are at school.
