The description indicated that it DOES have a built in DOCIS cable modem. Only issue for using that for retail customers is then the customer would have two cable modems on their lines at home. That adds extra charge in those areas where it's supported, unless the box will also serve as a gateway and provide ethernet / wi-fi for the rest of the house.

Good stuff! The only drawback is this powerhouse doesn't have 3 or 4 QAM tuners. Surprising, considering this unit is capable of recording 4-streams at once.
