    Satellites Directions?

    ADVERTS 1
Unfortunately, I live in an apartment building that faces North only and not Southwest as needed for Direct TV, Dish Network or Voom. There is no common area either where a satellite dish may be installed. The only area where I would be allowed to install it is my patio that faces North. In addition, I am on the ground floor.

Is there any Satellite that faces North that I could utilize? How about the Canadian dishes? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the satellites, U.S. and Canadian, are located over the equator so you're going to need a clear shot to the south.

I have seen east- or west-pointing apartment balconies with dishes on slanted, counter-weighted beams so they could look "around the corner" at the southern sky. Probably wouldn't work for true north-facing balconies.
