Process This, Nielsen
ADVERTS 1
Source & More:TV types have become shockingly immune to reading the words "Nielsen processing issues" on their Blackberries. It seems the ratings giant finds a reason to delay reporting numbers at least once a week.

Proud Staff MemberAdalian Column: Nielsen Failure Foretold by Disco-Era Tactics

Great Nielsen Meltdown of 2009
should come as no surprise to anyone who’s ever seen one of the company’s paper diaries. Until about a week ago, I actually had no clue just how the ratings giant collected data from consumers. Nielsen loves to shroud just about everything it does in secrecy, no doubt because it knows how broken its system is.
But then my mom called to let me know Nielsen had sent her a diary, along with five one-dollar bills. She was not happy.

I have done the paper diary for Nielsen before for radio. It is a pain, but I was willing to do it and would love to do it for TV. I always want to count in the ratings for the shows I watch.
