New Reciever (DVR1100C) and NAS Drive
ADVERTS 1
Has anyone tried a NAS drive with the DVR1100C receiver?
Meritline has a low cost (about $45 shipped) Network Attached Storage drive case that can take any 3.5" Hard disk and includes a USB 2.0 port and a connection to a local area network.
It seems like this would be a great way to make recorded programs available in more places without physically moving drives around.
If I can find some program that directly plays the .TS files without cost, then I think this (or something like it would be worth trying.

Just connect the drive into a local area network (LAN) and install driver into each computer that will share the drive. Not only acts as a portable USB mass storage, also acts as a LAN sharing disk in workgroup.LANShare an USB 2.0 and Ethernet combo enclosure, adopts advanced NDAS (Network Direct Attached Storage) technology that exempts the need for complicated TCP/IP settings.
