DVR-1100C Automatic Updates

Should the DVR be on or in standby in order for updates to occur? I have had only one automatic update in three months. It occurred on Nov 4, but not to the latest S/W and Data. I performed a manual OTA today and now have the latest, but was wondering if I am doing something wrong?

The Glorystar Automatic OTA updates will occur if the OTA Automatic Update is in the default ON mode and the unit is connected to electrical power with the Master Power switch on the rear of the receiver switched ON. The unit can be in operation mode or in stand-by mode.

Firmware updates will occur only if the owner accepts the firmware. Channel updates can occur without the owners acceptance if OTA Automatic Update is ON.

If no Firmware or Channel update is available, the unit will not download. Automatic Firmware or Channel Updates will be delayed until a DVR recording is completed.
