Question 16:9 Aspect on Fortec Star Mercury II?

    ADVERTS 1
No matter what aspect ratio setting I choose under TV Setup on the Fortec Star Mercury II receiver, the aspect does not change when viewed on the TV. I have tried changing these settings while viewing from both the S-Video and component outputs but everything stays at 4:3. I wanted to see how things would look using the 16:9 setting in conjunction with playing with the aspect settings on my widescreen TV.

Any ideas from those who have this receiver?

No one at all has come across this? And yes, my receiver is a Glorystar unit.

Glorystar, do you happen to have any thoughts or suggestions on this?

    Thanks so much.

unless the program is specifically 16:9 changing it usually does nothing. I have noticed on a few sporting feeds 16:9 is needed otherwise it looks like crap with stuff cut off.

example this past weekend was the feed for Boise State football. It was 16:9 widescreen. If I had the setting to 16:9 there was black bars on top and bottom. If I changed it to 4:3 the bars were gone.

Agree with Iceberg. We have only observed this function have effect on 16:9 originated programming.
