    The Best Aug.-Jan. Year Ever

    ADVERTS 1
I was just wondering what do you guys consider the best Aug.-Jan. year ever. What I mean by this is that from late August to Jan. what year was the best ever. Was it 2004, when the Red Sox and the Pats won the World Series and Super Bowl respectively? For all you Mets/Giants fans (well, me) was it 1986/87? This could count for Football, Basketball, Hockey, NCAA and Baseball. Any sport from Aug.-Jan., what was the best year for it. It just seems like there's a lot more interest, I guess, from Aug.-Jan., than from Feb.-July.

    August 2005 to January 2006:

The greatest single-season of college football ever

The return of NHL from the lockout

ABC's final year of Monday Night Football

An entertaining NFL season (Bengals had that great year, Colts almost run the table, the Seahawks were unstoppable, the T.O./Eagles soap opera, Cinderella Steelers)
"Winning big games ON THE ROAD is the signature of a clutch QB." BillD

There's more to playoff success than just winning. Sometimes, you have to go into enemy territory outside your stadium and walk the walk.
