Its gonna be an HD DVD weekend for me. Netflix delivering last Samuri, Phantom and Apollo 13 today. Yipppeee. I've only seen Serenity. Hard to judge how good this thing is with one flick.

I just bought Phantom Of The Opera.
I can not see any info on whether this was filmed in High Definition.
It says 1080i but are these HDDVD movies truly High Definition.
I bought a Peter Frampton 480i last year and I know that concert was filmed in High Definition.(It was played on HDNET)
I guess I don't want to pay $25.00 for a DVD if they are only up converted.
Someone educate me.

Proud Staff MemberJust added two more titles to the list. Announced for May 23: Blazing Saddles and The Fugitive.
Looks like there will be a total of six titles released next week. Good!Ilya @ SatelliteGuys.us

Small detial though is that film is also shot at 24 fps which during an action sequence can get a bit blurry. Resoultion isn't the only paramer to look at for example dynamic range would be another not so good thing about film.

Here is a link to a list of titles that are supposedly to come on HD DVD. I'm not sure how legitimate the list is but it has a number of additional titles including the Lord of the Rings trilogy.
