    [INSIGHT] Insight HD

    ADVERTS 1
In my opinion I do not think Insight has any plans to add any new hd programming. It has been a long time since they have added anything new. Everytime I call it is the same line that they have plans but no details. I guess if you want alot of hd programming you have to go to satellite.

I have 27 supposed HD channels on dish. But if it was not FILMED in HD then it is NOT HD. So true HD is sparse at best. It is the same crappy shows ALL DAY. after a month of rousch racing and the same nature shows. I find myself regretting the purchase. IMHO the content needs to be raised B4 the addition of channels that are all playing the same fake crap. Some ppl will not tell the truth or sugar coat the severity of the lack of programming. But your provider may be doing you a favor by not adding allot of repeated, compressed OLD shows. And raising your bill. Sure there is the occasional show but not often. Sorry for the rant. I just wanted to add another view. From someone who made the JUMP...

Neither of you said where you are, but one thing to consider is how much local HD networks Insight is giving you. For example, in my area, Insight carries ABC, NBC, FOX & BOTH of our local PBS stations in HD. (our local CBS is NOT in HD at all, hence the reason it is not also on the lineup) Since neither DBS co. is carrying my market, nor are they carrying ANY local PBS, this should be taken into consideration, especially since some (including our) local PBS's carry a large selection of HD programming.
The other nice thing is, at least in my market anyway, you do NOT even need an HD box &/or cablecard to get local HD channels from Insight, if you have a DCR HD TV.

    Insight HD

Just called my local cable office in Peoria and was now told that this fall would be some big changes on their hd lineup. I will just have to wait and see. I used to be a dish customer but got tired of having to pay for hd receiver upgrades. It is tough to pay $500 for a receiver and find out it is now obsolete. Probably would smart to stick with Insight. Anybody hear of any Insight hd rumours.

Sports and OTA channel shows are about all that is HD now. That is why I went from Dish to Insight, no upgrade charge for a receiver and essentially the same programming.

Sure will be glad when shows are actually shot to be shown in HD and then sent out that way, but until then..............

And, yes, you can only see a close-up of a grasshopper so many times before it gets BORING! Sorry, Discovery HD.

I'm considering going back to Insight when I move next year. I love DISH but I'm in an area with no local channel spot-beam and I miss the On Demand content. Also, the early cancellation fee would only be $80. The new "2.0" format they're advertising shows that the guide now displays in topic mode.

Alright, I got the HD box installed this morning and to tell you the truth, I am already pissed. Programs keep repeating and apparently I have to pay extra if I want to get TNTHD since I don't have the digital choice plan. Dish network here I come

ALOT of TNTHD programming is stretched SD. As for this comment:
if it was not FILMED in HD then it is NOT HD
That is NOT correct. Film has a higher resolution than video so even 30 year old movies can be converted to TRUE HD.
