The first and second installments of HBO's seven-part John Adams miniseries averaged 2.65 million viewers Sunday night. The opener at 8 p.m. drew a 5.2 household rating and 8 share within HBO’s universe, translating into 2.5 million viewers. The second installment built on its lead-in scoring a 5.6 rating, 8 share and 2.8 million viewers, according to Nielsen Media Research data.
