Shoppers and other visitors to Main Street at Lakewood Ranch can connect to the Internet through a new wireless Internet service. The Wi-Fi hot spot that covers the retail shopping and dining district was created through a partnership with cable and telecom company Bright House Networks. Connecting to the Internet in the area is free for Bright House Road Runner customers but costs 99 cents per half-hour for other users. There are lower rates for long-term Web surfers: $3.95 for three hours, $8.95 for 24 hours or $19.95 for 24 hours.
