Bangor CBS Affiliate Involved In Spat With Cable Company ADVERTS 1
(when will this end? how much more will viewers take before stepping up to the plate?)
The CBS affiliate in Bangor is being dropped from cable television due to a dispute with Time Warner Cable -- which takes over for Adelphia on August 1.
WABI General Manager Mike Young tells NEWS CENTER that WABI and Time Warner were unable to come to terms on a transmission agreement to broadcast CBS and the new CW network.
As it stands now, WABI will be off cable, effective Tuesday. That's when When Time Warner Cable will close on its deal to take over the operations of the bankrupt Adelphia.
We have placed a call to CBS to offer to carry their programming on one of our digital channels, so people in the bangor area won't lose their CBS shows.
