HERNDON, Va., Aug. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications Northern Virginia has announced a programming partnership with the Washington Redskins to provide exclusive team-focused content on its On DEMAND platform, effective in mid-August. The following television programs will soon be available to all Cox digital customers in the On DEMAND "Free Zone" section, which can be found on Cox Cable channel 1:

* Redskins Game Day -- Provides eager Redskins fans with their first taste of game day-related programming as the 2006-2007 NFL season prepares to kick-off. * Redskins Generation -- Appealing to middle and high-school students, this show is fast-paced with interesting youth-based segments. * Redskins Late Night -- A comedic lifestyle feature with a light-hearted look at the players and cheerleaders at Redskins Park and FedExField. * Joe Gibbs Coach's Show -- The ultimate insiders show featuring Coach Joe Gibbs, television news personality George Michael and Washington Redskins Hall of Fame star Sonny Jurgensen. * Redskins "Under the Helmet" -- In-depth off-the-field interviews with key Redskins players. * Redskins "Training to Win" -- Behind the scenes at Redskins Training Camp, as they prepare for the 2006-2007 season. * :60 with a Redskin -- Rapid-fire questions with Redskins players in a unique 60-second format. * Cheerleader Profiles -- In-depth interviews with Redskins cheerleaders.

In addition, Cox will provide its high-speed Internet customers with free "Redskins Direct" software for their desktop, which will allow fans to get all of the latest team updates and news flashes the same time they are released to the major news organizations.

This programming will not be available to Verizon or satellite customers. The new partnership will be for the 2006, 2007 and 2008 seasons. Cox will also be a partner on several Redskins programs such as Redskins Radio, Redskins Game Day TV, Redskins Generation TV and Redskins Late Night.

The exclusive content will be available to all of Cox's customers in Fairfax County and the Fredericksburg region.
