Welcome to SatelliteGuys! A Satellite will do you no good. You will need an OTA Antenna. Good Luck!

An indoor or outdoor antenna. Voom boxes are only good for OTA reception now.

The OTA will only work if the DSR-550 was activated by Voom prior to their demise. You will not be able to scann your local broadcasts if the unit was not activated.

How far away are the broadcast towers? If you are close you may get away with an indoor antenna.

Where are you? Look at antennaweb.com to map the transmitters. A good UHF indoor ant may work fine. Where did you buy the voom? How much?

How lost are you? The voom FAQ in the main thread above this gives a lot of info.
