"Scan Local Channels" finds nothing, doesn't even pause

    ADVERTS
I finally got everything hooked up (antenna to DSR550 to TV), but now when I try to scan for local channels, it doesn't find any. When aiming the antenna I get 80-85 (or higher) signal strength on several frequencies, but when I scan I come up with nothing. It doesn't even pause on any frequencies, which would mean it found SOMETHING on there!

The FAQ says if I can't get any OTA channels that "it usually means a wiring problem or a malfunctioning signal amplifier." What does that mean exactly? How can I find out what the problem is and how can I fix it?

BTW, I'm in Fargo, ND (zip 58103) which doesn't have many OTA digital channels, but I know at least a couple are broadcasting!

    Thanks!

OK, I swapped out the 8VSB antenna module on the box for another one I had, and it seems to have worked. Not sure if I got a bum module or what, but I got it fixed somehow! I swear I tried it with both modules before, but I guess not the right combination of stuff...

    Another update to this one:

Apparently if you want to swap out 8VSB modules, you have to actually unplug the box and plug it back in and let it do a full reboot. I was trying to just do it on the fly and it wouldn't work. So if anyone else has this problem, make sure you unplug and plug back in and let it reboot completely!
