[VOOM] Has anyone recieved guide data for local channels added through channel scan?

    ADVERTS 1
Another thread has implied that the new channel scanning capability in software 6.10
should show guide data for newly discovered channels within a day or two of the scanning
process. It also suggests- per Voom CSR feedback- that if guide data doesn't show up for
newly added local channels within a few days, there is something wrong with the box. I
    suspect that this is unlikely.

Before we all deduce that we must have defective boxes, has anyone at all recieved guide
data for local channels they did not get until they used the new channel scanning feature?

[VOOM] Anyone got guide data for newly scanned locals?

Another thread tells this story (encapsultated): 1. got new software to scan local channels.
    2. Scanned them and got a number of new local channels added to guide. 3. Noticed no
guide programming information for the channels. 4. Called Voom CSR, escalated the issue,
and was told that detailed programming data should show up within a few days. 5. No
show after several days, so called Voom back. 6. CSR supervisor deems box defective and
    sets up replacement.

My question: Has anyone who has scanned and picked up new local channels through
Voom got detailed programming data in their guide? I understand that boxes can be bad,
but this looks like a problem more than a few people are having (including me). I
remember my Directv box also would not show guide data for channels I could scan.

Interestingly enough, the Voom box is able to recognize the correct "call letters" for any
channels it scans (at least in my case). So, since the box can know which channel is which,
I would guess it just doesn't know to download the proper guide data detail for those
channels. Unless others are having success with detailed guide data for newly scanned
channels, I've got to guess that we are all looking forward to 6.20.

No. It is my observation that even though channels can now be added
from multiple directions, my STB is still only mapped in a single
direction. Ergo, I have the existing channel guide for the original
mapped channels and no info on newly added scanned channels. My
understanding is that Voom is going to be capable of mapping in
multiple directions between Sept. and October. At that point in time,
guides will most likely show up for the rest of our channels.

[VOOM] Re: Anyone got guide data for newly scanned locals?

This is what I assumed. NO ONE is succeeding in getting detailed guide data from newly
scanned channels (someone refute this if not true). This implies that Voom has a bit more
to do with the software now that scanning seems to be working. I don't imagine this is a
monumental upgrade, and hope it will come soon.

thanks Wilt, I think you put 3 topics somewhat to be with one answer. I greatly appreciate
the ongoing efforts by people on your team to make Voom better and better. I also
appreciate- perhaps even more so- that you participate in this communication channel to
keep us informed. Keep up the good work.
