Fact Or Myth: Killing Apps In The iOS Multitasking Bar Boosts Performance -- AppAdvice
I kill off apps that malfunction, but I figured as such that in iOS as in OSX, memory management is so good there is no need to be killing apps from memory, as the OS does it for you.

I use it for the iPad and need it as memory runs low often. When memory gets too low I get booted out of safari . Probably not an issue on iPhone
