Microsoft Files Complaint to Stop TiVo From Importing TV Set-Top Boxes - Bloomberg
Microsoft Corp., the world’s biggest software maker, filed a U.S. trade complaint seeking to prevent TiVo Inc. from importing television set-top boxes.
The complaint submitted today to the U.S. International Trade Commission in Washington accuses TiVo of infringing four patents. Microsoft is asking that TiVo be barred from importing the digital-video recorders, which are primarily made in Mexico and sold in the U.S.

It is looking like this was a retaliatory strike by MS in support of TIVO's ATT lawsuit. Apparently, the TIVO claim says the offending code is in Microsoft Mediaroom.
If so, this one won't go anywhere. It will be used to get TIVO to back off from ATT and the 2 will probably end up cross licensing.

It's one thing with tivo trying to extort Echostar, but are they really this dumb to go up against two 800lb gorillas like Microsoft and AT&T? Yup, looks like it.
