    CableCARD Tuner for PC

    ADVERTS 1
I feel like those guys living under a rock in the Geico commercials("What do you live under a rock?"). Anyway,I got an email today for a SiliconDust HDHomerun Prime CableCARD Tuner. I was wonder if anybody here has one of these or a Hauppauge WinTV-DCR-2650 dual tuner CableCARD receiver(the HDHomerun Prime is supposed to have 3 tuners)? I didn't see any threads on either of these.

The only problem I have with this is that my local cable isn't that good & I have a Mac computer. It would probably be a niche market, but it would be nice if DIRECTV would come out with a receiver patterned like these CableCARD tuners. Something that offers more than their NOMAD right now.

I believe there are not too many left that still have interest in the computer-as-a-receiver topic.
Being it satellite or cable, its history is littered with broken promises.

The first generation CableCard was harder to setup than hack Dish and get all the programming for free.
    The
    second generation

was too little too late, I think.

The fact that this is a pure North American phenomenon - running sat cards with CAMs in PCs
in Europe is not a crime - and the growing popularity of OTA, makes CableCard on PC practically a dead end, I think.

    Diogen.
