Treasure, Equator, Gallery, FilmFest, World Cinema, and Rave were my favorites. (Those that liked Voom had their own list of favorites). Sure, the schedule was a bit too repetitive, but new stuff premiered often enough for me. Hell, most of our current HD channels repeat too frequently.

My Dish Service just hasn't been the same since May 2008. Voom was something very special, and to me, most of the commercial channels we have today are just crap. So many show 6 to 12 hours of the same show. Spike, today, and apparently every weekday, airs 5 hours of CSI and then 4 hours of The Unit. I'm sure some people like that, but dang!
I feel ''exactly'' the same way. Also loved all the channels you mentioned plus
    Monster HD.

I guess what folks fail to realize is that Voom was ahead of its time. Possibly
    the best HD out there.

While I truely love Dishes Dvrs, if Voom the service came back into existence
Id drop dish in a heartbeat.
Why?? Because they were different. They offered niche programming.

Its sad to say we will most likely never see anything like Voom again.
It was my favorite programming by far.

    Its a shame...

Channels that have came up and tried to replace the Voom pack...
Palladia vs Rave: my nod goes to Rave as it had 5.1 sound all the time.
Ftv vs Rush: Rush, they had Cindy Crawford
Several premiums channels vs. Monsters: Monsters, you didn't have to hunt, plus better playlist
Several Channels vs. Guy TV: Guy TV, hard to find Dean Martin & Bond Movies...
Several Channels vs. Westerns: Westerns, HDNet & MGM try...
    The list goes on.

    In short nothing...

    My take:

Monsters HD - Chiller?? Not even close. Chiller still not in HD. Plus the series they show are severly dated.

Film Fest- Nothing.. foreign films not seen eslewhere-Rashoman...

Equator..Discovery HD..Possibly but Equator had more interesting esoteric stuff.

Voom HD movies-HDmovie channel very close.

GalleryHD: The only HD channel dedicated to fine art ever. None before it. None now. and as far as I know, none coming in the future. Huge loss.

Yep. I really enjoyed that show where they recalled Art Heists, and the recovery of the stolen art. Where is that show now? nowhere....

Why doesn't Rainbow sell this programming?

Unfortunately, I think VOOM has placed a priority in proving its damage claim against EchoStar. There were hundreds of hours of original, and really interesting, material created for EquatorHD that I would like to see again.

All of this plus Voom was commercial free and never any edits.

My hope is that these dark days shall one day pass. MonstersHD is actually "undead" and will return on 12/20/2012 when the earth, the sun and the center of the milky way galaxy are in perfect alignment.

Fergie, I think you meant FTV (Fashion TV) vs. Ultra.

Rush was extreme sports like Fuel.

Rush HD vs. Fuel HD is no comparison. Rush HD actually has real HD.

Fashion TV barely does fashion. There's no analysis or deconstruction just glitz imagery. Ultra also did home decor and interior design.

Palladia (censored content plus endless commercials) is a joke compared to Rave. Ovation would be a better comparison if it were available in HD.
