It's Official, this morning it was announced that Comcast is seeking controlling interest of NBC Universal. General Electric has agreed to sell its 51% controlling interest to Comcast.

This will never pass muster through Congress. If anything, I'd expect D* to fight this tooth and nail. Comcast has given them a perfect example of why this is not a good deal for customers (the Versus mess.) I would hope this would do the opposite of what some may think...actually force Comcast to do the right thing and just extend the Versus contract with D* under the existing terms.
Regardless of any existing cable channel disputes, I would hope that the anti-trust people would force NBC-Comcast to divest themselves of all company owned affiliates. Owning a network is one thing....complete control of the delivery method for all network programming is another.

Anti-trust? That might not exist anymore...
You are talking about the old-congress.
The new-congress would let this happen....

They raised my high-speed Internet rate by $4/month 2 months ago, so yeah, I imagine cable rates will go up too post-purchase.

It took me HERE where I got plopped onto page four of a nineteen page Epix & Dish thread that has been going on since August.
Somehow, I would expect to see page one or the last page...
