"tinny" sound
ADVERTS
I have satellite radio and was wondering why sirius 23 "hair nation" sounds tinny. It has the low bandwidth sound if you know what I am talking about.
When I brought my radio in the house and connected it to my surround system with the line-out - it sounded horrid.

Well I know its many hours later but I just scanned many channels including 23 at home and hear nothing out of the ordinary. I don't think you would want to use "surround sound mode" but the 2-channel or stereo mode on your A/V unit.
DirecTV HR22, H21, H23, HR20, Mitsubishi HC1500 96", Sanyo PLV-Z 106", Acer H5360 92", Insignia NS-51P680A12 51", Onkyo TX-NR708, Onkyo HT-R550, Sony BDP-S570, Sony PS3 (x2), D-Link Gigabit Network, ViaTalk Unlimited VoIP ($13/mo)

that did it-I had it on "pro-logic music" and when I put it on "stereo" mode sounded better.

If its tinny in your car I'd have to suspect that they might have been working on that channel, I had the same experience at one point after I got mine in 06.
