I agree.
As Salsa said, injuries are part of the game, but in Brand's case, he's had past injury history. They should've been aware of the risk before signing him. The Sixers took the risk and may have overpaid. The Sixers spent a ton of money (five years, $80 million) on a guy that was coming off of an Achilles injury. He played in just 29 games this season.
Plus, this year Brand's numbers are WAY down. 13 ppg, 1.3 ast, 8 reb. You'd expect more from a guy making $80 mill.

Did Popovich and the Spurs Just Ruin the Game of Basketball?
On Tuesday, Spurs head coach, Greg Popovich decided to rest his 3 stars: Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobili. All 3 did not play when the Spurs tipped off against the Nuggets. Instead, a starting five of Bruce Bowen, Kurt Thomas, Matt Bonner, Roger Mason, and George Hill took the floor.
This was billed as a match-up between the upper echelon of the Western Conference’s second tier: A battle to decide who would be the favorite to take on the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals. By removing Duncan, Parker, and Ginobili from the mix, Popovich completely robbed the game of any broader symbolism it may have held.
Tuesday night in Denver, Gregg Popovich sought nothing less than to destroy the game of basketball. They essentially forefitted the game by resting their best players.
I can honestly say I’m not sure I can recall another instance of a coach resting his 3 best players in any game, let alone a big game against a conference opponent you are fighting with over seeding. I would be furious if Mike Brown pulled a stunt like this.

Was the injury that ended his season DUE to the Achillies? IF it was, then you might be able to say that...BUT if it was something else...then you just saying it for effect. Regardless, these athlethes get better doctor's than YOU and I would have little chance of seeing...especially when it comes to injuries. And often times, they come back BETTER than before the injury. "WASTED MONEY" is a player that is irresponsible or has been unproductive for an number of years. He is in his 1st year of a 5 year contract....to call him "a COMPLETE waste of money" is a tad premature...don't you think?

In an email to The Plain Dealer, Cavs owner Daniel Gilbert sounded off on the Mo Williams snub.........
GM Danny Ferry had this to say.......Ben Wallace was right when he called Mo originally being passed over for the All-Star Game a ’shamockery,’ ” said Cavaliers owner Daniel Gilbert in an e-mailed statement. “But not naming him as the natural and obvious replacement for the unfortunately injured Jameer Nelson is stupidiculous, idillogical and preposterageous.”
Take that David Stern!!!“I know Commisioner Stern has followed our team’s success but maybe doesn’t appreciate how important Mo has been to our team. We have had a great start. We have been really good on both ends of the court, have the top record in the league, and thus far have led the league in point differential all year long.
“Our players and coaches know how important Mo has been to our team’s success. Regardless, we have done a great job of not getting distracted and staying focused on our team goals. I am confident we will continue to do so.”
