When it comes to the most controversial issue in sports this decade -- steroids -- pro basketball has not been tarnished
    Neither has hockey!

There's more to playoff success than just winning. Sometimes, you have to go into enemy territory outside your stadium and walk the walk.

FOX Sports on MSN - NBA - NBA avoids current taint of scandal

Yeah, but the scandal with the fixed ref was really bad and some how squashed and silenced IMMEDIATELY! IF you think that only ONE NBA could be tarnished, you are in never, never land. There is WAY TOO MUCH $$$$$ involved in ALL major sports to be TOTALLY clean. MONEY is and will ALWAYS be the root of all evil and where there is ALOT of money, there is plenty of corruption that has not been found yet....

T-Wolves Jefferson out the torn ACL in right knee - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

I guess that surge by Minnesota may be shortlived.

For once, I agree with you 100%

The NBA ref fixing games is FAR more troubling to me than roids in baseball. I do not think he's the only one...Theres a guy (former mobster I think?) who used to frequently come on Jim Rome's radio show who claimed the NBA has a huge problems with Players/Refs fixing games...

That was majorly hushed up REALLY fast. I mean it goes farther back than that, to this day, I am STILL 100% positive that Michael Jordan was suspended and he did NOT retire. You have to give David Sterns his due, he sure as hell knows how to shutdown a crisis really good and really fast.

No doubt. A ref willingly affecting the outcome of multiple games to pay back a bookie is perhaps the biggest sports scandal in my lifetime. Its hard to believe that its barely mentioned in the media.

Conspiracy theories aside, this was an isolated incident, involving a single ref, Tim Donaghy. It's a stretch to say that fixing games is a widespread NBA problem.

YES, it maybe a stretch to say fixing games are widespread...but it is absolutely MORE of a stretch to say that he is the only one and that no other ref is or ever was involved.

Tell me something, with ALL the money that flows legally AND ilegally on basketball ...and we are talking ONLY basketball, deep down inside, if your life depended on it, would YOU say it was "an isolated incident"??!!

NBA Week in Review by HD MM

    1. The Lakers are the best team in the NBA at the moment. In their recent road trip, they went 6-0, including wins over Boston and Cleveland. And this without their starting center, Andrew Bynum!

    2. As the NBA trade-deadline (Feb. 19th) inches closer, rumors will continue to swirl among teams looking to make a trade. If Sunday's game doesn't scream "Get a big man" to Cavs GM Danny Ferry, I don't know what does.

    3. Does anyone else get the sick humor in Spurs center, Matt Bonner's nickname; "The Red Rocket"??! His last name is Bonner and his nickname is "The Red Rocket"?! Are you kidding me?!

    4. The Knicks had a brutal 3-game stretch in playing Boston, Cleveland and the LA Lakers this past week. Even though they lost all three, Knicks’ Al Harrinton raised some eyebrows by calling the Cavs defeat a "feel-good loss." Really Al? A “feel-good loss.” Is there really such a thing? Wow!

    5. Steve Nash fell one short of his career high with 21 assists in a recent Suns' victory over the Pistons. It also happened to be the highest assist total recorded against the Pistons in any of the franchise's 2,250 home games.

    6. Charles Barkley will return to the TNT network as an NBA analyst soon after its airing of the All-Star Game on Sunday.

    7. Create a caption....

    8. Check out this half court bounce pass by Iverson to Rip Hamilton. Too often, great dunks and fall-away buzzer beater shots get all the attention. But truth be told, nothing — and I mean nothing — gets me as fired up as watching some guard zip a 40-to-50 foot bounce pass to a fast-breaking teammate!

    [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=haPzE0cKoqo"]Bounce Pass Madness![/ame]

    9. Did you guys hear about the Junior High Varsity B-Ball player from Syracuse who is 3' 10"?! According to her teamates,"she's mad good."

    10. And finally, my week in review wouldn't be complete unless I pay tribute to the game of the week yet again which Kobe and LeBron share. (Kobe and LeBron vs. The Garden).

Check out this montage for a complete highlight of the two players achievements....

Agreed. The Lakers have a great team. Kobe, Odom, & Gasol are a formidible "big 3." If Bynum comes back for the playoffs - - watch out.

    2. As the NBA trade-deadline (Feb. 19th) inches closer, rumors will continue to swirl among teams looking to make a trade. If Sunday's game doesn't scream "Get a big man" to Cavs GM Danny Ferry, I don't know what does.

Varajao's interior defense has been disappointing of late. Whats up with that? They do need to get a big man....I wonder what they'll have to give up.

    3. Does anyone else get the sick humor in Spurs center, Matt Bonner's nickname; "The Red Rocket"??! His last name is Bonner and his nickname is "The Red Rocket"?! Are you kidding me?!

    LMFAO!

    What a loser.

    6. Charles Barkley will return to the TNT network as an NBA analyst soon after its airing of the All-Star Game on Sunday.

I thought he'd be back sooner.
