NBA Rumors: Will Cavs Make A Run At Carter?
According to The News-Herald and ESPN, this rumor is gaining steam....
Keep this name in mind: Vince Carter. Many observers around the league think the Nets will make the veteran shooting guard available at the trade deadline, and don't be surprised if the Cavs make another run at him.
The question in Cleveland is whether Carter can set aside his ego and play second fiddle with the Cavs. He should be able to accomplish that in order to win a championship before he retires.

Question to Sandra or any other Jersey residents. Would Vince help/hurt this Cavs' team?

8 in a row!
If anyone cares, there is something really special brewing in Cleveland......
Last night, the Cavaliers won their 8th game in a row to improve to 9-2.
Also, LeBron James (23 years, 324 days), became the youngest player to score 11,000 points to surpass the former leader, Kobe Bryant. Kobe was 25 when he accomplished this milestone.
The combination of guards, Mo Williams and Delonte West continue to impress me. Both had 16 points in the winning effort. Also, this team is playing some fierce defense that Coach Mike Brown has to be proud of. (He considers this team a defense first team). The Cavs held the Nets to only 30 points in the entire 2nd half!
Final Score: Cavs 106, Nets 82
This game sets up the first clash with the Pistons tonight in the Palace. The Cavaliers will be on the back end of back-to-back road games, while the Pistons were at home getting pampered yesterday. Let's hope there is no layoff and the this game is as good as it's billing. Easily, the most anticipated game of the season so far IMO.

You got that right, did you see Lebron's comments about him leaving Cleveland last night? Before the game, James said he would not hesitate to leave Cleveland if another franchise offers him a better chance to win multiple NBA titles. "I think you do what is best for you and your career." Maybe I wasn't so far off base in saying Detroit could be where he lands.
BTW,last night Lebron became the youngest player to reach 11,000 pts. in NBA history.

Not interested in talking about 2010 Paul. As I said in the past, if LeBron brings us a championship in the next 2 years, I will gladly root for him wherever he goes (since the media has already written his ticket out of Cleveland that is).
With that said, this Cleveland team is as good as any I've ever seen. The greatest chance at winning the titles that he's after may be actually be right HERE in Cleveland. We are seriously just one low-post presence away from being the most complete team in the league. With expiring contracts, I can see us picking up another piece before the trade deadline.
But regardless of what happens, I just want want to enjoy these next 2 years and stop speculating.Last edited by HD MM; 11-19-2008 at 12:34 PM.

I don't care how much money Jay-Z and the Nets offer- right now, they look awful.
LeBron won't play for a loser!"Winning big games ON THE ROAD is the signature of a clutch QB." BillD
There's more to playoff success than just winning. Sometimes, you have to go into enemy territory outside your stadium and walk the walk.

I know I said I don't like speculating, but I'm about to break my own rules
.....
I heard an interesting post on a message board this morning saying that if all else fails, Cavs owner, Daniel Gilbert may still have an ace up his sleeve. Let's face it; any team with LeBron on it, instantly gains significant monetary value. Conversely, if he leaves, the Cavs franchise would drop in value faster than OSU will drop Michigan this weekend.
So, onto my point: Gilbert may offer a partial ownership to LeBron and/or his buddy Jay-Z. This compromise would work for all parties. LeBron can stay on a winner. Jay-Z can be united with his buddy and have a piece of the business. Gilbert will be better off with this compromise than having a LeBron-less Cavs franchise. (Not sure as to the legalities of a player owning a piece of the team he plays for, but I'm sure they can have a clause set up for his owenership to take place once his career is over). Interesting thought to say the least. Our crafty owner isn't going to lose out on the one of the biggest stars in sports without a fight....
