Incorrect. The Braves and Celtics franchises were swapped, and the Celtics moved to San Diego and the Braves franchise was renamed to be the Celtics and moved to Boston. Glen Ordway explained this about a hundred times on the air when he was the Celtics radio broadcaster.

It was done that way for legal and contractual expediency. If you remember the Celtics and Braves trading nearly a dozen players for each other, most of whom neither team wanted, that was part of the same transaction.

I stayed up late myself last night, and watched the Thunder/Warriors game. Not exactly the marquee match up of the night, but a very exciting game. 22 lead changes, 14 ties, and a buzzer-beater for the win by OKC on the road.

Gotcha. Thanks for the clarification.

Another correction...Delonte West is injured...not Mo Williams.
Jeez. How'd I make that typo? I think I'm still tired from staying up for the game and having to get up at 5:30am for work.

The TNT doubleheader tonight is interesting.

8:00 Boston - Orlando

Looks like a dogfight the rest of the year for 1-3 in the East. And despite what you may hear, whoever comes out first will have a huge advantage, having a potentially much easier matchup in the Eastern Semis against the Hawks or Pistons, while the other two play each other. And they'll have homecourt in the finals, which is often decisive.

10:30 Washington - LA Lakers

I don't normally watch the terrible teams, but it's always fun to watch the Lakers no matter who they're playing. Jack and other luminaries in the front row, Kobe taking over the game when he has to (tonight he probably won't have to), Lamar Odom trying to figure out where he fits in on this team, Phil Jackson talking to himself when something bad happens...always a good watch.

Looking forward to seeing Boston vs. Orlando tonight.

And your right Sandra, homecourt is gonna be huge for whatever team gets it come playoff time.

That and a dime will get you a cup of coffee. BTW the Pistons have dropped the Lakers, Cavs, and Magic this season. Hasn't gotten them anywhere.

This page has information and pictures of the old Buffalo Braves (now legally the new Boston Celtics, but for practical purposes, the LA Clippers). They played in Buffalo from 1970 to 1978 and have enjoyed most of their success during that time.

.... John Y. Brown, Jr. purchases minority interest in the team ....

.... Brown investigates the possibility of moving the team to Dallas as the Dallas Express .... 7Jun78 Brown and Mangurian exchange the franchise with Irving H. Levin and Harold Lipton for the Boston franchise, Levin and Lipton then move the franchise to San Diego...

I guess they won't be losing 70.

Losing to the Thunder and Bobcats will do that to you.
