Good or bad hire?

There's more to playoff success than just winning. Sometimes, you have to go into enemy territory outside your stadium and walk the walk.

Sabres,
I just looked up Macha's record in his four years with the A's. I didn't realize it was this good:
2003: 96-66
2004: 91-71
2005: 88-74
2006: 93-69

I'm surprised they hired Macha. I mean Syveum did get the Brew Crew into the playoffs. They were dead and buried before Syveum took over. It also helped that the Mets choked but the Brewers did win 5 out of 6 to make the playoffs.

Macha is a good hire. He should do well with a team that is probably a little better put together than the A's.
Now the Brewers have a real manager instead of the amateur that was there most of this year.
