2009 NFL Draft
ADVERTS 1
For the folks who wish to turn the page on the 2008 season, I figure now is as good of a time as ever to look towards the future. The 2009 NFL Draft that is.
Here's a snapshot of ESPN's current Power Rankings, followed by their Top 32 College Recruits. I realize NFL Draft positions are still TBD, but we can still discuss and anticipate what might be available for our teams. The Power Rankings may be the most accurate list we can use to forecast the draft order for now. (For instance, since the Lions are ranked #32, they would have the 1st pick in the '09 draft).
Ok, let's have fun. Who goes where? Who do you want for your team?

Given that the NFL has changes in mind to their labor contract in 2010, I think you will see a lot of underclassmen coming out this season, to grab the $$$ while they can.

I think the Bengals will pick somewhere around third, and knowing Moron Mike Brown and his penchant for taking position players high and his love for tOSU, he will probably reach way too far down and pick Beanie Wells. He'll go ahead and pick him third (or whatever), and he won't even try to trade down.

Don't look for any of the teams with the top 5 picks to trade down. It's really expensive to sign those top 5 picks. As for the Lions, I'll wait till later to talk about what they need. The list is very long right now, and I'd rather see what's available before I project who they may draft. Besides, what I think they need and who they draft has never been in agreement. I sent my resume to Ford for the GM position. I should be hearing back from them any day now.

The Steelers need O lineman and D lineman.

Some analysts have CB, Malcom Jenkins (tOSU) dropping to the Browns and drafting a franchise RB in Chris Wells would be tempting, but I would really like to see a stud LB drafted with our first pick.
With that said, I like Rey Maualuga from USC, a lot.
