Ordered Toshiba Regza Cinema Series 55SV670u today
ADVERTS
Toshiba: Regza | Models | Regza SV670: 55SV670U
So,
As many know, I've been in the market for a new tv, and even considered FP. One pc of advice I was given was to get a decent lcd, AND a FP. I like that idea, but decided to get a NICE lcd instead of a lower tier model.
The wife is a little po'd that I sold the plasma so quick, so I decided to go ahead with the LED purchase since she has another 5 weeks here after I leave, and I'm not worried about moving the LED LCD.
My choices were:
Samsung 55" 8500 (at $4k dollars, it just costs too much and I don't like their QC)
LG LH90 and LHX (The LH90 is nice, but I hate the look of the tv and they do not separate antiblur and antijudder; The LHX is awesome, but only sold by Bbuy and not worth $1200 more than the Regza, IMHO)
So, I got the Regza from Amazon (onecall) and a 3yr square trade warranty for a great price. This leaves room for the FP if the house has a room I can dedicate.
Thanks to all for the help, and Gregg, please don't kick my butt too hard for not getting another plasma
This is a steal of a tv, got it for $2425 shipped with a 3yr square trade in home warranty.

Good choice. That one was on my short list before you convinced me to go with the Panny plasma instead

I was hoping you would go fp so we could see step by step progress so I could learn.

I am sure you will be happy.
I am still considering the fp. Damn been considering for a year now.

Hehe. Well, if I get the right room and do it, I'll surely take pictures. Until then, I take some shots of the new toy when it arrives next week.

Onecall has been great so far. Called me for followup today, and now I have a tracking number. Tv is moving quick and should be delivered Friday.

Well, I just watched a lot of action scenes from blu-rays like Transformers, and I am not gonna waste your time with a long post, I'm only gonna say:
This tv is the shit! I can say, without a doubt, I am not missing the plasma. Toshiba oughta be shot for selling this think $1800 less than a Samsung 8500 55". What a sick deal...PN64D7000/BDP-93

Cool. How about some pictures? How's the off-angle viewing on it?
