New Equipment for 129 Sat
Okay,
We need to upgrade one of our dishes to pick up the 129 sat for our HD channels. I've tried to point our legacy dish (18") with an upgraded dish pro lnb to no avail, no surprise there. Not even getting a blip on the meter is making me a little nervous but we get the 119/110 just fine so I'm thinking it's dish. Anyway, I've heard that the biggest dish possible is the best to minimize drop outs on sat 129. Are we limited to dish network brand dishes or will after market dishes work too? Also, I believe my lnb should work just fine so it's really just the dish itself that I need. I'm just not sure if you cn mount this lnb to an after market dish.

Unless you are in the northwest or do not have line of sight to 129, a dish 300 or dish 500 will suffice.

Dish has been known to install a 24" dish for HD upgrades in your area.

Is that one of the common dishes, like a dish 500 or 1000?

No is is a special dish with 129 lnb only on it.

Well, not really a special dish, it is just a standard 24" hyperbolic dish with one lnb.
