Trouble setting the dish elevation for a winegard 1m dish and dg380 motor setup
Hi,
I'm new and I'm having trouble setting the dish elevation for a winegard 1m dish and dg380 motor setup. First, the elevation scale for the dish is located at the top of the winegard dish bracket - different than other dishes I have observed. According to the motor manual the dish angle should be (35 - declination angle) which is approximately 28 degrees (Cape Cod Massachusetts) Is this correct? If so, should I just attempt to set the dish elevation to 28 - the scale on the dish just appears awkward. Any help would be appreciated.

The Motor is set to Your Latitude - 41.7 make sure you use the Latitude scale on the Motor
The elevation scale on Dishes are known to be Off a few degrees, start at 28, adjust to best signal, don't be surprised if the best signal is + / - a few degrees.10' Unimesh w/ C Band Ortho Feed, GBox 3000, and Motorized 90cm "Bob Jones" Dish for Ku, with Omicom S2, TBS5925, TeVii 470, AZBox Elite, SatHawk PVR800.

Dish Protractor
ADVERTISING BOX
Sounds right as you got the dish elevation figured from your manual.
You can make a dish protractor to place across the face of the dish with a little plumb bob. It takes into account for mast motor dish variations. Set your dish face to your calculated dish elevation from
www.sigsat.com
and take your dish offset into account maybe 24 degrees offset like my winegard 76 cm.Get rid of this ad below, as well as the link redirect by becoming a Supporting Pub Member
Check your plumb and level five times it's that important.
