    Visionsat Questions

    Got my new Visionsat IV 200 Plus. I'm waiting for my splitters to come from Sadoun but meanwhile I want to make sure the latest firmware is loaded. Here's what it shows;

    App Ver NORW 1.15

    Is that the firmware version?

    The latest version available on the Visionsat website is 1.20 but I have the 1.45 version from this thread. Is that the one to load?

    Do I have to be concerned with backing up anything before I attempt an upgrade?

    If I copy the file to the thumbdrive and insert it into the receiver is that all I need to do? Will the receiver automatically detect and load the firmware?

    Thanks...

    You will find your firmware version number in the Sysyem Information menu, under Application Version. I have v1.45 in mine and I think that is the latest, believe mine came with v1.15 in it when it was new.

    I can't answer your other questions as I've only updated mine one time and it's been quite a while, I forgot the exact procedure.

    have you read the review thread on the Visionsat, lots of info there?

    1.45 is the newest so you should load that. There have been many "bug" fixes since 1.15

    as for the loading, someone will have to help you with that. Since mine is close enough to the computer, I use the rs-232 cable

    Is the 1.45 for card readers only and 1.20 for all others or just go with 1.45?

    Yes, I read the entire thread twice but couldn't find anything describing exactly what the thumbdrive update procedure was (maybe I just missed it?).

    Iceberg, your post came in while I was writing the above response. Thanks for the info, will use 1.45. Hopefully someone can fill me in on the USB update procedure.
