    aligning a slimline dish

This has probably been covered somewhere in here but I can't find it anywhere. I'm in Pt. Roberts WA and get really good readings on everything but the 99.2

Is there a way to isolate just that satellite to tweak the signal strength? I was told that I need to reduce the good numbers to boast the low one, but that has not seemed to help.

    Any suggestions?

Try changing the skew by 1 degree cw or ccw, when you balance 99 and 103, you're good

Thanks for the tip. What do you mean by skew? is that elevation, bearing or tilt?

I am able to get into the 80's on the 103, but only the high 40's on the 99.

Tilt and skew are the same thing. Bearing is really azimuth, and elevation is elevation! At least according to Directv anyways!

    Skew is tilt.

If you're only in the 80's on 103, those aren't the greatest numbers, ideally, you want mid to upper 90's on all Sat's. Might be best if you can find a local installer to dither your dish.

Depending on where the op is, 80's may be the best he can get. Those in SoCal have generally lower signal strengths. 80's is okay, but higher is better in marginal conditions, like heavy rain. For normal weather, it's fine.
