Mirroring HDTV to SDTV?
Hello,
I have a Dish Network VIP222k receiver with the HDTV as my main TV. I also have a Standard TV #1 upstairs which works fine, it is channel independent.
However, I have Standard TV #2 that just mirrors just like the HDTV on the ground floor, but after unhooking up too quickly and didn't take notes, I tried numerous times to hook up correctly without success.
I believe that I need the component cable to work. But, I tried all kinds of hooking it up with it.
How can I mirror the Standard TV #2 with the HDTV with the coax cable? I have attached pictures. The first one is from the receiver. The second is from the HDTV.
The third picture is the Standard TV #2. I tried all kinds of combinations. Thanks!

The 222k has no TV1 RF output. So your options are component/composite, or using an RF modulator on the composite, such as a VCR, or one designed specifically for such. Depending on how far away the TV is, a long composite/component run may be used, or in the case of RF you will have more distance, however an inline amplifier may be needed as the RF modulator you use may not be strong enough for longer runs.
Or, you can mirror TV2, using a coax splitter.

Try hooking the coax up to #2 and tuning the tv to the same channel as standard tv #1 (either 60 or 73 by default). Or, do this: Press MENU. Select System Setup, Installation, and then Modulator Setup. See what channels tv1 and tv2 are output on. Tune the standard tv2 to the channel shown for tv1 to mirror tv1 or tune to the channel shown for tv2 to mirror tv2. I don't think the 222 allows for mirroring of the tv1 program as stated above. Only the 622 and 722 allow that. I just copied it out of the owner's manual.

I unhooked just about everything. For now, I removed the coax from the HDTV and the component cables from both the HDTV and the receiver to get better photos. As of now, both TV#2 upstairs and HDTV work fine.

The coax was placed by the tech from the dining room TV#2 to the HDTV. I thought the coax was hooked to the TV OUT on the HDTV in the living room, along with the component cables. But, it didn't work. I did not see any other spiltters before unhooking. Would TV OUT on the HDTV work as a splitter?
I remember the dining room TV#2 was set to ch. 3 for mirroring and the upstairs TV#1 was set to ch. 60 because of the channels being independent.
The component cables were hooked up, but I did not remember how it was hooked up from the receiver to the HDTV.
There is a triplexer from the dish input, but I don't think it has to do with TV#1, but it is for the TV#2 upstairs.
Thanks again.
