Tivo / DVR new to both
Can someone tell me the difference? What can I do with a $100 DVR? I have HD from D*. I would like to replace my VCR.
Can I put shows onto DVD?

DVR is a piece of hardware. It stores digital signals like a VCR (no more tapes!).

Most (if not all) HD DVRs use HDCP to prevent you from recording HD content for copyright reasons.
