College Football Realignment Rumors abound again

Lots of rumors going around lately.

FSU and Clemson to the Big 12 being the biggest for the last month.

Louisville has reportedly stated to the Big East they will be gone if the opportunity arises.



Boise St and San Diego St are reportedly rethinking their moves to the Big East now. Will the Mountain West help Boise with their $5 million buyout to keep them from moving July 1st.?

I think it will get interesting in a few more weeks after the BCS June meetings.

Looks like Pitt is trying to follow WVU road. Filing suit to get out of the Big East a year earlier and asking the Big East for lost revenue from all the other departures.

Isn't Boise State Officially in the Big East, they can't just say, sorry guys, we changed our minds, see ya .... can they ?

They have the same clause written in the contract that TCU had. They can leave before July 1, 2012 and only have to pay $5 million, which supposedly the MWC is looking to help them with. If they wait until after July 1, 2012 then it goes up to $10 million

You would think if you say Hey, were joining Conference X, that you should be obligatewd to stay for X amount of years before you can leave.... hell, they haven't even got IN the door yet.

So I guess any of the Big Boys that want to shop around can join a conference for the summer and move on before the deadline if they wanted.

Doesn't seem right, does it? If Boise St. were to renege on the Big East because they think it's folding, well they are essentially causing the situation for which they are leaving. Crazy stuff.
