Major Crimes on TNT
"The detectives in the Los Angeles Police Department's Major Crimes division are still reeling from the departure of Brenda Leigh Johnson and the realization that Captain Raydor is now in charge. Unlike their previous chief, Raydor is determined to lead the department with a more team-oriented approach, sharing the credit with the people with whom she works. Raydor's hardest job, however, will be gaining the full trust and confidence of her detectives, who aren't quick to forget her long history of internal investigations targeting them and their previous boss. Especially troublesome is Provenza, who has a difficult time taking orders from someone he doesn’t think knows as much as he does."
Offhand it looks like the many of the same cast from The Closer are returning to this show (if you view the TNT website). However, IMDb.com shows that 7-episdes have been recorded and I don't see many of the same faces. We see, I suppose.

In theory the show should be a success...however, I'm not sure people will be quite so "keen" in their acceptance of Capt. Raydor. I don't think the new show will miss Gabriel or Pope. I'll miss Taylor...he was source of continuous amusement. We shall see.

Glad to see that there will be a continuation of this series albeit in a different form. Writers have "softened" the Capt. Raydor role, so I think that will work as this spinoff goes forward. Getting off track a little, I think that TNT has really come up with some very good series over the last few years.

No amount of writing will ever soften that mug....she needs to visit Greta Van Susteren's plastic surgeon.
