    It's the future, but only as other technologies hit obsolescence. They agent going to lose many if any customers over it.

    While this is probably the preferred option, it doesn't appear to be the option that DIRECTV chose.

    Think ICT is part of AACS, not HDCP. HDCP shuts down the feed if the connection isn't secure between the receiver and display.

    2 different things.

    Regardless of what standard it is, the intention was to stop people from using HD component. DIRECTV, on the other hand, seems to be encouraging the use of component for HD.
