    Use dishpointer.com to see if you are able to aim at the satellite you want, you will need a clear insight line to the sats.
    Go to lyngsat to see if you like the channel listing. 5 digit transponders are for KU reception.

    If you thinking about getting Starz, HBO etc , that will not happen with FTA.
